Portobello Town Hall is managed and developed by a charity called Portobello Central SCIO. (The name was from the early days of our campaign to save the building, before we had control of the building and therefore didn't feel we could claim to be the Town Hall yet.)
We are a registered charity, and our focus is to ensure that the Town Hall is a well-managed community asset complying with the charitable purposes in our constitution.
Our focus is on maintaining and developing the Town Hall and the surrounding grounds as recreational facilities to enhance citizenship, improve lives and develop our communities.
This can be in areas such as arts, heritage, culture and science.
We have a membership of people who are interested in the building and what happens in there. Please consider becoming a member.
A board of volunteer trustees are elected at our annual general meeting (AGM) to run the charity and who are responsible to the membership.

We currently have a small staff team, a board of trustees and an active volunteer community. If you are able to help with the running of the Town Hall please complete our volunteer form.

We’d love to have a really wide and active membership and volunteer base.
