Autumn feels as though it’s here now. I’m definitely starting to 'cosy in' indoors.
Don’t forget, indoors doesn’t have to be at home! We’ve got a great range of events at the Town Hall. Come along, keep cosy, socialise with friends and family and enjoy the darker evenings.
Last weekend saw over 200 people dancing away at the first Ceilidh to take place since reopening.
On November 8th Oliver! takes to the stage for a six-performance run by Stage Door Entertainment. There are still a few tickets left and you can buy them from their website. We’ll see more from them in December when the cast of Cinderella perform Portobello’s 2023 panto.
The regular monthly Makers Market will be here on Sunday November 3rd and December 1st. Is it too early to say, ‘Come along and do a little Christmas shopping’?
Have a look at our events page for more information about what’s coming up in the next few months.
Alongside events we’re running a whole schedule of decorating and refurbishment. When you come in, some changes will be obvious. The foyer is now less tobacco yellow and brighter and breezier. Some of the changes will be less obvious. We’re in the process of replacing all the old lightbulbs with LED ones. (There must be a ‘how long does it take’ joke in there somewhere).
More updates are coming. We are aiming to keep the historical integrity of the building and create a modern community events space.
A quick look forward to January and we're planning a community event. Come along and tell us more about your hopes for the Town Hall and its grounds. What you’d like to see taking place and how we can make a space that’s inviting for everyone. More details coming.
Hope to see you in the Town Hall soon!
